Berin, Further to my earlier message I have now fixed the logger bug, as I thought I just needed to make sure Servlet.jar was on the classpath so the Ant class dependency was configured correctly. The new jar is at http://www.pigbite.co.uk/avalon-excalibur.jar. I have not tested this on JDK1.3

JDK1.4 & Connection pooling
