More obvious things to try...
Is the DISPLAY env variable set correctly and does the user under which tomcat
is running have permission to connect to the X server?

Hello!!
I have the same error, but when I check the log files catalina.out,
catalina_log.2002-05-21,
localhost_access_log.2002-05-21, localhost_examples_log.2002-05-21 and
localhost_log.2002-05-21
(I don't have any log file inside the cocoon directory) there isn't any
error.
I have X11, jdk1.

Then check you display settings. You get an error that you can't write to
display:10. Does it exist?

Read the cocoon docs!
You need an X11 screen to be able to use Batic. Another solution is JDK
1.4, but then you must compile Cocoon yourself in JDK 1.4 and you must use
at least Cocoon 2.0.3.

Hi,
My problem is with loading the Cocoon 2 servlet when starting up tomcat

just plug-in to Tomcat without a hitch. It looks like a security problem,
but I have allowed all permissions for all contexts by adding the line

The errors you mention in your original message seem to indicate that the
Oracle JDBC driver is not being found. I have only had success (in the
Tomcat environment) when I renamed classes12.zip to classes12.jar and placed
