I'm using cocoon to communicate with MS SQL Server via MS JDBC driver (Java
1.3). After switching to current HEAD I get an error message that did not
exist in my previous version:
org.apache.cocoon.ProcessingException: Exception in

I working with on a simple database query with cocoon 2. I've done
this with the older cocoon, but here I'm having a processing problem
of some sort with the taglib.
The connection pool is fine, that's working, however something goes
wrong with the esql. It just sents the client back the xml w

Keeping in mind I do not know a hell of a lot about java or jdbc, does it
make any sense that I can write a little test program in java, and have it
connect to the database just fine with the jdbc driver, but when used in
cocoon, I get a slew of errors?
The java program only goes up to "DriverMan

You are correct. I just built a recent (past few days) CVS snapshot and
the ESQL samples spit that same NoValidConnectionException.
This is lame...

Title: RE: jdbc or xsp or esql problem
I don't remember if I tried it with jdk1.4. I'll re-build it in a few minutes if I dont find a quicker solution.
Despite the errors going away (now the xsp page spits no errors, but the resulting page is totally blank, not even a tag (more
do the e?sql-samples work that come with the distribution using the
hsqldb-server?
I bet they don't.

Hey folks,

Hi users,
I'm facing with a problem while trying to show a database
field through ESQL. The thing is that the field contains a "º" simbol (ASCII
character 167). But when I render it with Cocoon, I get the symbol
"º" instead.
Any idea?
thanks!

Look at this fragment from the esql taglib and read the comments I've
placed in
it :
_esql_query.statement =
_esql_connection.connection.createStatement();
_esql_query.results =
_esql_query.statement.execute(_esql_query.query);
// my debug
System.out.println("ESQL : _esql_query

If you didn't want to assign to a variable, then you'd need to enclose
the "rowNum=..." code with a element. I'll patch that
into the logic
It seems you should put it inside xsp:logic like this
rowNum = ;
(if C2 is a bit like C1 ;) )

The above is not terminated. A

break;
}
_esql_query.position++;
}
but I don't see any error. Am I mistake?

That's not true. It takes either a label or a number. So
should work (and it's translated correctly
to _esql_query_resultset.getInt(1). Proble
