Do note, though, that if you use Luke the desktop client, that you have the
same issue with Solr schema alignment with the queries you make in the UI.
You'll be able to pick an analyzer to query... but is it "compatible" with the
way the fields were indexed?

1) Archivematica does indeed use a MySQL/MariaDB database to store data
related to individual microservices / tasks that are performed within the
preservation workflow. The MySQL database also contains the contents of
the format policy registry. Specifics about what the database contains can

Ah yes, great suggestion to use Luke (the command-line tool, not the Solr
/admin/luke endpoint, that is, for those that may be familiar with the latter
but not the former).
And it's super cool that Luke has recently been added directly to the Lucene
project itself:

That's a bit tricky, but possible. It's a Lucene index, which is just a
directory of binary files. The trick to
I know it's not what you asked, but Docker Solr is pretty straightforward
to setup and run quickly: https://hub.docker.com/_/solr/

Eric,
as Michael and Chad have already mentioned, the indexes are Lucene. You
could try to use Luke [1] to query, or one of the methods Chad linked.

Eric,
There are ways to access the lucene index directly via Java clients (maybe
others too), as outlined here

Solr indexes are Lucene indexes, so you could copy the index files and then
use Lucene queries against it. That would not require a server, but only a
Lucene library.

I don't think so — but you could copy the index locally (or propagate a
snapshot) and run a local Solr server to query the index.

Is it possible to create a Solr index, copy the file(s) to my local machine,
and query the index sans the Solr server?
SQLite works like that. There is no server. I can use SQLite to create a file,
copy the file to a different computer (even a different operating system), and
use a SQLite clien
How is Code4Lib Journal indexed? What software is used, and more specifically,
what characteristics of each article are included in the index?
Our journal is pretty cool, but as a library-related journal, I think it can be
better. For example, what are the various indexed fields? Maybe we can su

Greetings, friendly c4l crew!
We're considering using Archivematica and I have several questions to which
I cannot find answers. Hopefully one of you can help me out.
1) It seems like the individual Archivematica client depends upon a MySQL
database mounted on a server. Is that right?
