I’m a big fan of OpenRefine as an accessible tool for working with data in a
wide variety of formats including JSON and XML
https://openrefine.org/
And a tutorial aimed at library workers

Best wishes

Hi David,
I work a lot with OpenRefine and also have some experience with the
Sherpa-Romeo API (although it's been a while since I looked at the
latter). Generally I'd recommend the OpenRefine discussion list/group
for any OpenRefine questions http://groups.google.com/group/openrefine/

I was involved in some work on calculating and visualising this kind of
word/phrase frequency on a project a few years ago - this was based on
queries to a corpus indexed in ElasticSearch, and charting words/phrase
frequency against each other using javascript - see
https://ukmhl.historicaltext
Just to be clear - this is not (currently) required to use the ORCID public API
- only for the Member API. The Member API is required for some types of use,
but not all

ion from the web page to the php script, and the PHP
makes the API request, then returns the information found to the javascript for
display.

I believe LPC == Local Planning Committee (for the conference)

Group
http://groups.google.com/group/openrefine there are people who use the ability
of OpenRefine to accept Python expressions instead of GREL - and that will give
you even more flexibility if you need it.

Once you’ve got the python service running on 0.0.0.0:5000, you need to add the
Reconcile service in OpenRefine using the URL
http://0.0.0.0:5000/reconcile
Using just http://0.0.0.0:5000 gives a 404 - and a timeout from OpenRefine.
Hope this helps

I tend to use OpenRefine to do this kind of work and this allows you to do
lookups on webservices such as the one I’ve used - so this is a pretty useful
addition to my toolset - thanks for asking the question!

I’ve not tried it, but https://github.com/derek73/python-nameparser /
https://pypi.python.org/pypi/nameparser looks interesting
