Makerspace Manager - Charles Library - (22000888)

Temple University Libraries serves the Temple community and beyond, including

Reporting to the Academic Information Technology and Support Technician (AITST) 
in the Loretta C. Duckworth Scholars Studio, the Makerspace Manager enlists 
best practices in library maker space implementation and is responsible for 
providing an interdisciplinary learning environment and a culture of critical 
making and innovation. In collaboration with the AITST, assists in the planning 
and coordination of maker-based research projects and related programming. 
Other major responsibilities include makerspace programming, supports faculty 
and students in grant work overseen by the AITST, coordinates the use of 
hardware and software tools, provides training and technical assistance, 
generates reports, and defines milestones in support of the library’s strategic 
plan.  Manages and maintains the physical area and equipment of the library’s 
makerspace. Handles the training of students, faculty, and staff in the safe 
use of making methods, materials, and equipment. Performs related duties as 
assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Fine Arts or other art related degree or Bachelor of Science in 
Engineering or related field and two years of comprehensive experience in a 
makerspace environment. 3D modeling experience. Demonstrated experience with a 
variety of digital fabrication tools (3D Printers, Laser Cutters, CNC, etc.). 
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred:
*Master’s degree in a related field
*Lab management experience
*Supervisory experience
