I may as well make an introductory post myself.

I'm an Unix admin and have been almost forever.
Before that I was a C and Fortran programmer.

I'm sort of a frustrated programmer at the moment
because I don't get to use the languages I'm interested
in.

My first programs were on a HP-97 programmable calculator!
My expertise is (roughly in order) C, shell/awk/sed, C++,
perl4, java, python.  I've also dabbled in basic, forth,
lisp, prolog, pascal and probably a bunch of others I've
forgotten.

I'm fascinated by ocaml and haskell and similar
languages but regret I'll probably not have the time or
career justification to really get into them.
