David Capwell commented on CASSANDRA-15884: ------------------------------------------- testing was down manually by making sure the glibc on the host was older than the one compiled against lz4-java. When profiled saw that the Unsafe java implementation was used, but when the host glibc is new enough then Jni is used. > Add a startup check to detect if LZ4 uses java rather than native > implementation > -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: CASSANDRA-15884 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-15884 > Project: Cassandra > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: Dependencies > Reporter: David Capwell > Assignee: David Capwell > Priority: Normal > > In some environments the native implementation can’t link with glibc and > silently falls back to java; this hurts performance. To help warn the > operators, we should add a startup check to detect this. -- This message was sent by Atlassian Jira (v8.3.4#803005) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: commits-unsubscr...@cassandra.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: commits-h...@cassandra.apache.org
