I'll wait a few more days for feedback from this email, and unless
there's a blocker in jira, the plan is to release beta-4 early next

Hello everyone,
I am trying to use Digester to load a Properties object from an XML file. When
I run the parse method off of the Digester object, the Object that is returned
doesn't have anything in it. I am not sure if this is a bug or that I am
missing something in the implementation. Here

In addition to Simon's comments, the XML you're trying to parse looks
suspiciously like the metadata used to define JNDI resources in a

We found a small performance discrepancy between Java's

the following change to HttpConnection.java (line 689 in version 2.0.1)
speeds things up considerably:
Bjarne,
Could you define 'considerably' in some ANSI units? ;-)
I have just recently dealt with this problem. The empirical data that I
got appears to suggest that there's a (more or less) constant delta in
performance of ~2-3ms, which only makes a difference for relatively
small payloads. For
Hi Oleg,
I ran this by Ortwin prior to posting here:
I ran some quick tests. I just changed the line to:

Hi Oleg,
Forgot to mention:
It's not that BufferedInputStream#reset is better or faster than
PushbackInputStream#unread. The BufferedInputStream merely supports
mark/reset as a side-effect of doing buffering. The PushbackInputStream
doesn't buffer. From HttpParser:
public static byte[]
