FileSystemUtils needs to call Process.destroy() on exec'd processes -------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: IO-93 URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IO-93 Project: Commons IO Issue Type: Bug Components: Utilities Affects Versions: 1.2 Environment: Java 1.5_06 VM, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0 OS Reporter: Jon Neely Calling the FileSystemUtils.getFreeSpace() method multiple times (~3000) will generate an IOException with the following text: "Too many open files". Documentation from Sun says this problem is due to not destroying the java.lang.Process object returned from the System.exec() call. Some sample code I wrote confirms that calling destroy prevents this error from occurring. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
