I get it. So the core lang package has to be usable by anyone who does
not have all the nice features the later versions offer. Makes sense.
That said, how about having extensions, at least for J5 considering
is still 1.2.

What does the commons community think about updating the commons
packages, or at least commons lang, to Java 5?? Not sure if this was

I feel like Rip van Winkle. I participated in the commons (lang) a wee
bit a couple of years ago. After a while, my vicissitudes did not make
it easy to go on, and the huge, HUGE volume of mails in this group and
limited resources my side meant that it was hard even to stay
