We just announced the Java Mobile Embedded Developer Days Conference
for January of 2008. OpenMoko fits very well into the focus of this
conference so I'm posting the announcement here assuming the OpenMoko
community is interested in promoting this and participating.

Hello,
I want to know how I can play a file with the media player in qtopia? I
found nothing in the media player where I can choose a directory or a
file and dont found anything of a special directory where I must copy
my files. Can someone help me?
Greetings

Put .wav files in the sd card, (/media/card), and select the file in
the documents application (the bottom right icon in the main menu).
It doesn't play mp3/ogg files.

Consumer demand is the reason Manufacturer's have been keeping the camera on
the phone. And I have only seen them increasing the
Pixel count with each new phone.
There might not a be lot of consumers using the Contact as their only address

Hey...
... I think the best way to build OM for another device is to use the
Mokomakefile (http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/MokoMakefile) and edit the
/build/conf/local.conf to adjust the settings for your device. It takes some
times to build but you have an up to date rootfs.

Hey all,
I've been playing with a Neo for a little while now, and unfortunately
my current 3G SIM card from ATT has a serial number that falls within
the range of doesn't work on the wiki. Yesterday I bought a pre-paid
TMobile 3G card to see if that would work, and it didn't work either.
This camera vs non camera debate has been hashed out several times.
Many including myself support a camera option, but we have to make our
peace with the fact that it won't be happening with this version. It
is simply not possible without redesigning the case, which will only
add months and more

It seems like I've heard of people with tmobile using neo without too
much trouble, but I'm not sure if that was with a current SIM you
would get on a new account. I haven't seen a place for success reports

With ATT, formerly Cingular when 3D SIMS were introduced,
initially there was different SIMS for 3G (UTMS) and non-3G
(GSM) devices, but my understanding is that all new SIMS are
labeled as 3G, and they work on both types of devices, at least
with ATT they do. I would suggest try a new SIM.
