kenneth where if its paired up with a recent sonyericsson phone, it can display the number (or name if stored in the phones contacts) of whoever is calling. i dont recall this being part of the official bluetooth spec at any point... this is in the handsfree spec. they call it calling line

kenneth and as not many headsets come with a display, im guessing a lot of handsets just dont bother implementing support for that part of the spec? the handset should implement it in order to pass qualification, but it seems there's an out for handset makers by claiming the network won't
