I did another test with wpa_supplicant manually. This time, I looked more closely at the output, and noticed it said "authentication timeout". Duh! I checked my passphrase in wpa_supplicant.conf - one characyter had the wrong case. It works now: neo:~# ifconfig eth0 eth0 Link encap:Ethernet
