working in the GTA02. We're going to stockpile some current FIDO 3G/4G
SIMs at $10 each, cheap insurance versus being stuck in the future with
devices that can't do GPRS. We have *not* tested any FIDO LTE SIMs yet

Have you tried the new SIM in any other 2G-only phone? SIMs from 3(UK network)
seem to work only in 3G-capable devices. I never looked into how or why, but
it's possible Rogers are doing this with new SIMs either by accident or

In 2010, we were able to take circa mid-2008 Roger Wireless SIMs
(Canada) borrowed from an iPhone 3G and get it to work in Android Froyo
on the GTA02 850Mhz.
Two years later, we decided to add some GPRS reporting capability to our
Wi-Flight product which is currently using Wi-Fi only, we are
I have 5 different ATT 3G sims that work just fine. ( wife and kids etc,
tested them all)
I am NOT saying that folks wont encounter difficulties ( hopefully on a

I'm expecting my FreeRunner soon and was wondering about the Sim card
issue the 1973 version experienced.
Was it fixed? Can I expect just about any AT&T sim card to work now?
I was looking on ebay for sim cards and couldn't find any that were in
the "good list" as published here.

I can't tell you about that particular SIM card number, but they should all
work on the FreeRunner. As far as I know, they all work with the latest
(current) GSM firmware.
Make sure you get the 850 triband model of the FreeRunner.

I have a question about SIM cards. If I have a 3G phone with its 3G
SIM, will I be able to put that SIM in the Neo? My carrier is AT&T in
the US.
I think the answer is yes, because AT&T is having their old Cingular
customers upgrade to new 3G SIMs to put in their phones even if
