First, please can you try to keep things civil and respectful (even

Thanks all for your responses.
I'll be going to the Boston area, so if you don't hear me
complaining about it not working sometime soon, presume it's working
fine ;)

As others have said, look at the sticker inside the battery
That's much easier than I thought it would be, then I can confirm that I
have the "wrong" 900/1800/1900MHz but it still works fine.

1. remove battery cover
2. take out battery
3. look at serial number sticker under battery
4. h
I can corroborate that report. Bought my FR from Belgium, so I presume
its the 900/1800/1900 version, but I haven't found any way to verify
that. It works fine in San Francisco, CA and Chicago and central
Illinois on Simplemobile (which uses T-Mobile's network).

Hi Nick,
Thanks for the change in tone, for me it was more then welcome.
I have been to the USA with my FR and had no problem whatsoever in
connecting to the network, also the gprs worked just fine.
I did bought a USA sim card on ebay, just to cut the costs.
I traveled California, Nevada, Montanna
Hi folks,
A change of tone for the list, for now.
I'm going to the USA soon, and would ideally like to use my GTA02
there. It is a European 900/1800/1900MHz version (I presume - I
bought it 2nd hand - is there an easy way to check?). Can I just use
any network in the USA, and it will just registe

Well, there's probably no single provider using more than 1 (maybe 2) band.
The allowed bands depend on national regulations, usually 900/1800 or
850/1900.
So switching provider is what 3-band is made for.
If you try to find a reality exa

different build, factory only. No
How is the freerunner switched between the two frequency band triplets?
Software, new image, link, factory only, ...
Asking because what happens if you move carriers and they support "the
other" combination?
