Hi, Sally!
Thanks for the illuminating pic. Worth 1000 words or something.
Down here, the usual name is "welded wire fencing". Makes good compost cages,
too.

Hi Mike, I am only advising that you are allowing a plant to manage parts of
your garden. Admit it. And it could be removing valuable soil nutrients.
Remember the lady who swallowed the spider to catch the fly? The white fly. It

Again--I've been growing this specific Nicandra for many years. I love the
light blue flowers, the seed pods look amazing--highly ornamental--and I
greatly enjoy the reduction in flies you get as a side benefit. Haven't had
any whitefly since I started 'using' it. And I wonder if it might also

In Connecticut, sadly, the invasives list is VERY political, for example
Sycamour leaf maple is on the list ( I have never seen it natualized) while
Norway maple is not. In Connecticut, Norway maple makes Ailanthus altissima
look like a tender perenial!

Dear Dan,
Your ideas are brilliant. Perhaps you could communicate to the various
university programs around the country and see if you could get some seniors

I first saw the Tree of Heaven, Ailanthus altissima, in England. It is native

with nature, across a swath from New York to Windsor. It
