GrowingPower Teams with Farm Service Agency to Provide Info Kiosk (MILWAUKEE, 
WISCONSIN)– Growing Power, Inc. teams with theFarm Service Agency (FSA) to 
provide a FSA information kiosk at the Growing Power Community Food Center.  
This kiosk will be the first stepfor farmers accessing general information 
about available FSA programs. This opportunity comes at a good time considering 
the recent signing of the2008 National Farm Bill. A press conference will be 
held on September 10, 2008 at GrowingPower’s Community Food Center located in 
Milwaukee to present the new kiosk. “Growing Power is proud to be hosting the 
first kioskof this kind in the nation.  It is our mission to providevaluable 
resources to traditionally underserved communities, in particularimmigrant, 
African-American, Latino, Asian, and Native American farmers,”said Will Allen, 
Chief Executive Officer of GrowingPower.  Indeed, as a multicultural 
organization, Growing Power is anational leader in working with all communities 
and building bridges betweenthe non-profit sector and the USDA.  “The location 
of the kiosk atthe Growing Power Community Food Center will have a great impact 
for small andlimited-resource farmers who find theenvironment at Growing Power 
culturally friendly, inviting, and accessible,”added Allen.  Certainly with 
over 5,000 visitors a year, many of whom arefarmers, Growing Power is 
positioned to provide this additional service to thepublic. “This 
partnershipwill provide information about the Farm Service Agency to people who 
may not befamiliar with us or the programs available to them,” said Ben 
Brancel, Wisconsin FSA State ExecutiveDirector.  “This is a great opportunity 
not only for Growing Power,but for the Farm Service Agency.” Growing Power is a 
national nonprofit organization and land trust supporting people from diverse 
backgrounds, and the environments in which they live, by helping to provide 
equal access to healthy, high-quality, safe and affordable food for people in 
all communities.  Growing Power implements this mission by providing hands-on 
training, on-the-ground demonstration, outreach and technical assistance 
through the development of Community Food Systems that help people grow, 
process, market, and distribute food in a sustainable manner. The FSA is a 
nationwide agency under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that 
equitably serves all farmers, ranchers, and agricultural partners through the 
delivery of effective, efficient agricultural programs for all Americans.  
These programs are designed to improve the economic stability of the 
agricultural industry and to help farmers adjust production to meet demand.
