This kiosk will be the first stepfor farmers accessing general information about available FSA programs. This opportunity comes at a good time considering the recent signing of the2008 National Farm Bill. A press conference will be held on September 10, 2008 at GrowingPower’s Community Food Center located in Milwaukee to present the new kiosk. “Growing Power is proud to be hosting the first kioskof this kind in the nation. It is our mission to providevaluable resources to traditionally underserved communities, in particularimmigrant, African-American, Latino, Asian, and Native American farmers,”said Will Allen, Chief Executive Officer of GrowingPower. Indeed, as a multicultural organization, Growing Power is anational leader in working with all communities and building bridges betweenthe non-profit sector and the USDA. “The location of the kiosk atthe Growing Power Community Food Center will have a great impact for small andlimited-resource farmers who find theenvironment at Growing Power culturally friendly, inviting, and accessible,”added Allen.
