Professor Jane E. Schukoske's Community Land Use monograph, "Community 
Development Through Gardening: State and Local Policies Transforming Open 
Space"  is 
arguably the best studies on community garden land use that we have, by 
anyone!

It is probably one of the best scholarly monographs on a community gardening 
extant and should be a model for all future academic writing on the subject. 

I'm not kidding. 

Go to this site, and print this PDF and put a copy of it on your hard drives 
for the day when NYU decides to either discontinue this publication or clean 
up space on its server.
