I get 0% vsync doing same thing on latest kubuntu, with latest

I'm also facing the same issue since I have upgraded to Jaunty

client screen doesn't update eigther. VNC only works propperly after
disabling visual effects.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: compiz
I use 32-bit Karmic on lg-s1 laptop with mobility radeon x1600.
As of latest compiz update (1:0.8.2-0ubuntu13), my two cpu's are both on
constant ~50% load when compiz operates. This happens with the radeon and
radeonhd drivers defined in xorg.co
That's sort of a non sequitur, since Windows doesn't vsync properly on
any video card I own (including my 8800GT). Regardless, lack of vsync is
really, really annoying, considering it's something we've known how to
do since the mid 80s. There's really no excuse for it at this point.

In that case, the two should be merged & wobbling (etc) can be turned
on/off as a setting in a single plugin. The snappiness/resistance really
needs to be configurable.
I don't see it noted here - th

Lack of Vsync is the #1 reason I use windows. I refuse to tolerate an

I can confirm/reproduce this bug on a fresh and up-to-date install of
Ubuntu 9.04 running compiz and the nvidia restricted driver.

Hmmm. Not so sure if it's a correct duplicate. Just to put my 2 cents

+1 for just having windows quickly fade in and out when opened and
closed, no glide animation at all (as suggested by someone on the
duplicate bug 387429). A subtle fade is classy, it's attention to
detail. Windows flying around in three dimensions is over the top and
distracting.

I know it's not up to me, but I'm not sure if I agree with the "low"
