Actually, it's the other way around. If I ENABLE compiz, fullscreen WORKS, else
not.
It seems to be a gtk/metacity issue, where fullscreen doesn't get enabled when
the window itself is larger than the root window.

Hi all,
got the same problem here,
when i do : compiz --replace
all become just like inverted as in a mirror,
I can provide information, ask if needed.
My gpu is :
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GME Express
Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)
00:02.1 Display
I added a compiz task to this bug, and hopefully one of the compiz
developers will be able to help triage and debug this, since you say you
only see this issue with compiz running.
I always disable compiz, so that's probably why I don't see the issue.

Just adding to the negative reports.

Compiz has detected this and refuses to run because although the
software rasterizer is technically capable of running compiz it does so
at about 2 fps.
** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu)
Just to add another data point: Regular install (not upgrade) of Karmic,
system up to date.
The mouse-based "water" effect (usually launched by CTRL+SUPER) does not work,
although the "rain" and "wiper" effects both do. [Thinkpad T400 laptop, Intel
graphics]

Well, it was a long run, but the mouse thing proved irrelevant. Problem
started happening again. Really starting to annoy. :( Is there not
anyone from the dev team that can setup and help us out?
