My specific repeatable test was : pidgin conversation open, set to
visible on all workspaces. If I switch workspaces, pidgin retains
keyboard focus regardless of which order it was in, on that workspace

Where you using the same mirror (mirrors.us.kernel.org)? If so, that
mirror had a broken compiz-plugins package.
I checked and the deb package on the mirror does match the hash sum now.

After I upgrade my Karmic to Lucid using apt-get dist-upgrade, I got an
unusable compiz environment. Disabling compiz will get me a quite
usable, but still some application getting slow and leave artifact in
screen. This is using 2.6.32-22.33 kernel.

This is intentional. When compiz runs in to a window larger than the max
texture size it quits rather than show garbage or a solid white box as
it used to. Compiz 0.9 will have a proper fix for this.

I'm running 10.04 LTS 64 bit with an Ati X1950 Pro graphics card on an
AMD 3400+ / K8VSE Deluxe board. I have made no modifications to the
standard build other than standard Ubuntu updates. When I enable
desktop effects, GNOME response is extreme
I also have this problem with Lucid running some wine games in the
fullscreen mode. Furthermore I have encountered the same problem running

- Lucid in a VM (VirtualBox 3.1.6 - Windows XP host)
- Compiz enabled
- CompizConfig Settings Manager installed

as the window handling does not quite work always and then when I unplug
the TV even if I call compiz with compiz --fusion it does not come back

I've upgraded my Karmic to Lucid and this error begins to occur. I have 2
monitors with dual screen mode and total virtual desktop has the size
(2048x1280).
In Karmic mentioned issue didn't happen and everything works fine. But after
upgrade process it's too difficult to work without compiz beca
