I would be curious to hear from anyone on this list whether they have
experienced this too. Perhaps you don't really use compiz and wobbly
windows in particular so much? The effect is very noticeable as well if
you drag a window along slowly - you see these white pixels between the
window's menu
As #31 says, this is fixed in 1.3.0.
Fedora got this update more than a year ago!

Also, kudos to https://launchpad.net/~glukensoft for pointing out the
exact problem in comment #44. It made this trivial to fix. Thanks.

Ok, to answer myself, here is a workaround for those using the
cube+rotate plugins, and that don't want to lose those 2 pixels at each
border.
1) Disable any flip edge feature in the rotate plugin
2) Run this cmds:
$ gconftool-2 -s -t string
Florian, Can you post a link to the upstream bug? I'd like to see a fix
for this too.

My Ubuntu doesn't seem to have the windows decorator. I've looked
through everything and haven't found any solution. I'm running on Ubuntu
8.04 - the Hardy Heron. Is there anything else i can try?

This is actually a standards issue. The xorg folks are technically right
as the fix we'd want from them would be to make unmapping a window not
actually unmap it which isn't a good idea. What we need is a way to stop
showing the window and not send input to it either. This will most
likely involve

So I've realized what has happened. The tooltip is larger than your
video card's max texture size so compiz aborts and launches metacity
because the only other option would be for you to see a blank white
window as there is no way for compiz to show that window.

Hi,
Me too.
On an older desktop, which I just upgraded to Lucid from Karmic and
which had *none* of these problems before the upgrade, the only solution
that works is (b) compiz --replace as a startup item.
Joe: No, this is not fixed in 1.3.0. The reason that it works in Fedora
is that they enabled the GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS workaround in Fedora release
nspluginwrapper-1.3.0-10.fc12.
