This is not a compiz bug. Either the launcher is not aware of
viewports and is asking the browser window to take focus instead of
spawning a new one or the browser asks existing instances to take
focus rather than spawning new ones.

Bug still entent on Maverick. Shouldn't need to be doing window
placement workaournds; Last time I checked the clock applet is
GDK_WINDOW_TYPE_HINT_DOCK and if so, Compiz is in error by repositioning
it to the middle of the right-hand side. It should be docked on the
panel.

This automated bug just popped up after booting the Alpha1 iso-test #2
Live CD and I can hardly see anything to type this.
Nothing on the desktop but this crash notification and the install and
examples icons.
If I right click the desktop the monitor "flashes" and then comes back

this morning i decided to reinstall using the latest daily build and now
the only time the borders and panel disappear is if i enable or disable
something within compiz and the only types of errors of compiz in the
log file viewer is things like

Yes, I can confirm I'm also experiencing this problem with gnome-
terminal:
1. Open gnome-terminal (defaults to home directory). Title is: Terminal
2. cd PublicTitle is now: u...@machinename: ~
3. cd ../ Title is now: u...@machinename: ~/Public
- so it's one step behind.
Similar is
Works with one right-click but personally I'd too prefer seeing this
work with one left-click.

I wanted to try the new Unity interface, so I downloaded the .iso file
for Ubuntu 10.10, and created a bootable USB drive. But when I selected
"Try Ubuntu Netbook" when I booted from the USB drive, I got a blank

I've been running natty for a while. After today's update, compiz would
crash when logging into the Ubuntu Classic Desktop. After discussing
this with didrocks and seb128 on IRC, it was discovered that compiz did
not like my settings in ~/.config/c

However, processing it in order to get sufficient information for the
developers failed (it does not generate an useful symbolic stack trace). This
might be caused by some outdated packages which were installed on your system

Interesting. I've been noticing this with any old window in general (I
don't use the widgets layer, I hardly know what it is). Any time I hide
and then show a window, it climbs up the screen by one title bar height,
until it hits the top. Then it stops. By hide/show, I mean make the
window complete
