Nope, it will still randomly crash when opening windows/menues.
It seems to bee an issue with the compiz regex plugin. Disabling it will stop
the crashes.

I have the same problem with rubymine, intellij idea, dbviz and a couple
of other java apps. I can't see that this is an importance low

I am running a desktop - HP m9205f with an upgraded nvidia GTS450
graphics card running 11.04 64-bit and receive this issue a couple of
times per day (depending on how heavy of use). I have noticed it
occurring either when I'm browsing the Internet or in libre office.

I can certainly reproduce the graphical glitches in a standard Ubuntu session
with Unity, but swithing to Ubuntu Classic there seems to be no problems when
minimizing windows.
I have checked to make sure that I am running compiz, albeit with the old
gnome-panels instead of Unity.

It seems the best workarounds so far is either:
a) Reverted to an older compiz as described in #116 (disables Unity).
b) Use the command killall -9 notification-area-applet and reload the
applet when prompted. Do it a couple of times and hopefully the icon will
appear.

It happens to me also, after 20-30 min working on ubuntu 11.04 with the
lastest updated. With Gnome clasic (no unity). Also im using a radeon HD
4870 with privative drivers. the unity --replace command didnt work
for me.

I have posted a stack trace, but it's in one of the bugs marked as a
duplicate of this bug. I can get a new stack trace about every 30
minutes.
Is there any way to escalate this bug or have someone re-review it? It

When i try to scroll with mousewheel in libreoffice compiz crashes! I
launched it (compiz) from a console and when it crashes it says:
segmentation fault. I tried to scroll in different windows but it
happened only in libreoffice

Feeling really bad about it, since I cannot essentially use my computer!
I need to have the screen locked for security reasons!

I have this exact problem. I am using a GeForce 7300 LE. This seems to
affect a lot of laptop users, but I have the desktop version of this
card.
The unity_support_test passes completely, but the desktop hangs if I

keyboard to navigate amongst panels.
Steps to repro:
1) Press Alt+F1. This brings up the Applications Menu.
2) Try any key combination to get to the indicator applets. 'Tab'

After selecting a new cursor, I still see my Obsidian cursor - however
if I take a screenshot it captures the newly selected cursor! Switching
to Metacity shows the new cursor, but returning to Compiz shows the old
one again.
