few pixels away from the edge. I must give it a significant buffer
(10px?) for it to only show on the appropriate desktop.

I've noticed similar problem. When my pc is idle with only firefox
running, the console top command shows 27% cpu utilization from Compiz.

can't be reproduced here. On idle time compiz is using 0,4 percent cpu,
using 2,1 percent mem. Please report a new bug, thanks.

The set of plugins I enabled should be in the original report, right?
Care of the apport hook? It could well have been caused by one of
{blur,bicubic} I guess, but I didn't do a bisect through the list of
plugins.
unity --reset works fine. You're welcome to treat this as a
