I can confirm that I often have to maximise dialogues in order to see the

I didn't experience this in Natty or Oneiric, but I am experiencing it
in Precise--With the "Show Desktop" Plugin, but not the "Fade to
Desktop" plugin, the windows seem to do their flying off-screen, but
then pop back to their previous locations.
The issue can *usually* be avoided in the Show Des

Retried again.
The debugging command : kill -9 `pgrep "gnome-settings"`;
gnome-settings-daemon --debug
made the patch work for Unity 3D temporarily. I had a similar output as in
comment #22 (xrandr Identified monitors...etc) and the monitor switch also
worked.

Daniel: I must say that I've never encountered any issues using perf
against executables or libraries with stripped debug symbols. While,
admittedly, I nearly never strip debug symbols from my own builds, these
are still linked against distribution libraries, most of which have
separate symbols. Wh

a sort-of workaround for this is to turn "compiz --replace" in a

I may confirm the bug, although the behavior is a bit inconsistent.
Here is what I've had for today. "Unredirect fullscreen windows" has been
toggled on during that time.
- On the first boot for today, Unity with Compiz has started as expected.
- Upon a reboot (applied after a kernel update), it
