what triggers the window to maximise on the wrong screen.

I would like to suggest here to use Emerald, the original Compiz
Decorator, as default for Compiz/Unity...
It looks better, supports transparency and glow, has more functionality
built-in already, than any other window decorator, like free

The fix will be reviewed before the next SRU. However it may take a
different form, because there are other scale plugin regressions
introduced in 12.04 that we'd also like to fix. And they all seem to be
caused by a single commit. So it's possible the first thing we do is
revert that one commit

This crash typically coincides with attempting to draw a menu in lotus
notes. So click on a menu element, and the moment it paints, crash.
There really is no debug info after that. Any way to turn on a more real
crash handler in compiz to get to the bottom of this?

Seeing how easy it is to create a PPA, I have just done this:
https://launchpad.net/~oli/+archive/compiz-place-patch
It has built for 32bit Precise but there's a 4-hour wait for 64bit
Precise. When it's ready you can install the PPA and just upgrade to the
package like so:
sudo

IME: the defect occurs when summoning a modal dialog. I can keep the
target program open (in my case, Lotus Notes) and use it for as long as
I want without decoration loss as long as I do nothing that creates a

I can pretty much trigger the issue at will by summoning modal dialogs.

Thanks for the tip. Setting just the Focus Effect to None didn't

In my case, setting just the Focus Animation to None does work. Even
with a Minimize Animation set. Occasionally however, menu's still

Hi, just to you know, I've been running into this bug, too, ever since I
upgraded to 12.04 (a few days after the release). I would love to have
it fixed, I am quite used to the bottom-right corner, which I use for
Scale windows.
From what I've noticed:
- it's pretty random, sometimes it does
Seems more like a Compiz-related issue. Does it also occur when effects
are enabled in Gnome Classic?
