@Simon The compilation error seems a unrelated bug introduced by me(I
made it compile with KDE 4.11, but fail with KDE 4.10). You can report
it as a bug, and I'll try to fix it.
As a workaround, you can disable the compiling of kde4-window-decorator
by now.

yes, the error does not have anything to do with this bug but since I
was complaining about not being able to compile compiz (and therefore
not being able to see if this bug has been fixed) I thought I should at
least post I worked around it.
Now that I know your news I'd rather try
@Simon, I'll only try to fix it if anyone files a bug about that. :)

I'm just going to do what MC Return suggests and create a distro patch
in Compiz to create a command for Ctrl-Alt-Del to start gnome-system-
monitor -p.

My ubuntu are on external disk. So, I can switch to any PC. This things
often makes either compiz or unity not loaded (blank screen). I use
nVidia (GeForce 8100 / nForce 720a).
I endup reinstall nvidia driver (nvidia-310) if I face this bug (apt-get
purge and install). After that compiz work but
