When resizing windows the decorator should probably wait for the window content
to finish drawing until the window gets resized further.
Currently, it looks like there are really bad visual artefacts (at least
normal people would perceive it as such) in some applications like LibreOffice
or
I haven't tested this on any desktop environment other than Unity, so this
appears to be a problem with basically any other DE when Compiz is being used
as the compositor.
Has anyone tested this with an environment other that Unity or Gnome?

I am also experiencing the same problem on ThinkPad T410 now. I am not
sure if it is related to the nvidia current driver shipped by Ubuntu
12.04. Anyway, this problem influences me severely as the high CPU usage
results in fan frequently working at high speed, making a loud noice and

I am having the same problem on this perpetual beta called 11.04 Final
with all updates installed. Compiz is now using 1,25 GiB memory after a
few hours and steadily rising. This is a lot of memory on a machine
running 4 GiB of memory, swapping is inevitable and makes the system
really slow.
The bug is nowhere near solved. Just for testing I left a Natty 11.04
AMD64 machine untouched (not doing anything as a user) after booting and
compiz takes up to 2.5 GiB of memory. As I said, no extra programs were
started, no user action was taken, no effects were started either.

The problem still exists in Natty 11.04 AMD64 if Unity is running. After
a few hours/days, Compiz takes up to 1.1 GiB of memory on a fully
updated system.

I forgot to mention most of the memory the compiz process is taking is
in heap. Without heap, memory usage of the compiz process would be
60-200 MiB.

I have tried the mulitload ppa and I can't say the excessive memory
usage is going down. Compiz takes up 1.5-2.0 GiB memory after a few
hours.
Using the classical Gnome interface (with effects), compiz (not
downgraded) takes up 20 MiB of memory.

compiz is consuming 6.5 GiB memory
I have the same problem. Compiz is taking up over 2 GiB of memory and
after a unity --replace the used memory goes down. This problem makes
the desktop after some time useless.
