After further discussion, I think we won't take this on as it's a big
pile of work. I'm happy to consult with the upstream compiz folks if
they want to explore options.
What has been discussed is allowing unity7 autopilot tests to continue
to depend on Python 2 python-compizconfig. Since unity7

Hi. I've landed here because of LP: #1310794. In order to drop Python
2 from the Ubuntu touch image, we need to port all autopilot tests to
Python 3. One of the current blockers is unity7, which uses the python-
compizconfig package to access the Python level `compizconfig.Context`
object.

I was running Unity 2D. Just today I upgraded my VM guest to Quantal and
since I heard that 2D is going away in Quantal, I've switched to 3D for now.

It still happens for me (IIRC, I showed didrocks at UDS). I suspect it's
caused by oddness in the VM layer's mapping of keys to the guest t

It does. I don't think this is an Emacs problem as I also see incorrect

Setting back to New in compiz because the height problem still exists.
Fortunately, the other geometry problems have been solved.

Yes, the bug still occurs for me when I hit Alt. Note that I can hit
and hold Alt for 10 seconds, then release it and it still brings up the
HUD. This is true even though I have System
Systems->Keyboard->Shortcuts->Key to show the HUD set to Super+Space.

Under Unity 3d, a quick tap of Alt will summon the HUD. Lingering longer on
Alt does not though, and this seems fairly natural from my quick

I don't think this is a duplicate of bug 755842, although the underlying
cause could be similar. Note that the messed up geometry affects
windows when they are first mapped on the screen, and affect both
horizontal and vertical calculations. Both sizes and positions are
messed up, and this occurs
Same thing just happened to me. I was Alt-tabbing away from a Terminal
window.
