Public bug reported:
A setup which worked in 13.04 fails in 14.04: Straightforward use of a skydome
image in the rotating cube of compiz.
Rather than show a background image, there is no just screen corruption when
rotating the cube.
Not sure why I bothered checking -- but I did, and this is a
even though this is not happening in Unity?

Public bug reported:
I run ubuntu-classic.
After running compiz-settings program and turning on the cube, my interface is
broken: compiz crashes and leaves me without any window manager. If I relaunch
it, it dies with a segfault. I've turned the cube off and gone back to a wall,
but compiz

I should say that various keybindings are also broken/changed: now Ctrl-f fails
to do what it should (typically move cursor forward, for example) in various
applications.
And, just to make things annoying, launching metacity --replace rather than
compiz --replace sort of works except that
Deleting or moving .gconf/apps/compiz* seems maybe to fix the
corruption.

After the latest update (but not necessarily strictly/immediately; ie, I
haven't tried in some weeks), including backports:
I just booted with my external plugged in. gdm (or whatever it is) came
up perfectly. I logged in under Unity, and the external came up in the

Under latest Natty, compiz not unity, the behaviour is just as I desired
it should become.

11.04; does not recover
For me, it's not just compiz, in that Unity also fails terribly if I
start up with an external monitor attached, or plug one in after logging
in. The extended portion of the desktop does crazy stuff, like having a
second status bar and maybe second set of launcher icons, but they don't
work

I have my compiz/etc set up so that alt-tab tabs through the windows on the
current desktop; I think that's fairly standard. If, while holding down alt so
that I am still in that tabbing mode, I press F4, it kills
