Dear All,
I'm new to ubuntu.
I've been trying to install nvidia drivers and cuda to use gpu for machine
learning.
I tried different versions, once lost the desktop (had a blank screen) and
restored it.
Now, icons went missing...
I've been trying whatever but nothing works

Indeed, it seems to be compiz related. When I disable the effects, the calendar
appears where it should.
