I had numerous more freezes after my last post. I removed the testing
ppa and updated to the 340.17 drivers. No freezes yet, but the
flickering is back, obviously.

It doesn't seem to appear immediately, but once it happens, it starts
happening consistently. It stops when I switch windows. I'm currently on
the 337.25 drivers with a GTX 770.
X, or something, is definitely having some issues it seems like, as my
system has locked up twice in the past two hours.

This happens to me with driver version >331.67. FWIW, I'm using a
GTX770.
Looks like the mutter bug
(https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=728464) is almost fixed and
the patches are pretty close to being accepted.
