I can't think why a reboot would make a difference for VirtualBox
(perhaps for Unity...) I suspect that the menu bar issue is because
this is a generic Linux and not a specific Ubuntu build, but I suggest
that that discussion

I got the same Problem, CCSM doesnt remember the 60hz and i also have to turn
off Sync to VBlank in Nvidia-Settings to get no stutter when running glxgears
and compiz at the same time.

Slightly annoying that this is broken, it's the only way (I know of) to
get a global overview of all windows.

Compiz hangs upon login (freshly booted cpu) and eats up 100% of a CPU
core. Desktop is unusable. Had to restart lightdm from a text console
and login with Ubuntu 2D to use the machine.

Same here using the current 12.04 Beta.
Initialize scaling for all windows only shows the windows on the current
workspace.
