Matt, was the battery on your ThinkPad not attached when you weren't
able to reproduce the hang?
When I was trying to get the hang to happen on my X200, I got about two
days of hang-free Unity. When I attached the battery and continued
trying, I got two hangs within three hours of each other.

I got a trace with a hang - this is with -1ubuntu4.1.2 from the PPA.

After looking at it a bit I'm not 100% sure that the previous log I
posted is correct - the modification time is 20 minutes before the time
of the hang. Here's another one, this time checking that xtrace was
indeed running and that the modification time was only seconds before
the hang.
**
I can confirm, I've also hit the bug even after installing the
-1ubuntu4.1.2 version.

One more thing: when it hangs, if I move the mouse over where I'd expect
the password box to be, the cursor changes to an I-beam, and when I move
it out of that area, it turns back into a regular mouse cursor. The
screen stays completely black (except for the mouse cursor) through all
of this.

Same here. Had Super+R assigned to Run on the Xubuntu side. Pressed it

hard reboot.

Window matching rules in other plugins (like Animations) work fine, so
the Window Decorations plugin seems to be the source of trouble.

Is this going to be fixed? I've been using the GNOME Classic mode in Ubuntu

Granted, I haven't tried changing my window placement to Center yet.
I'll try that now.
Have a great day:)

Want to note that running in classic mode, Compiz has 37 megs resident

After 24 hrs, my 8 gigs of ram are 100% consumed and my machine is too

Thanks for the clarification. However, does that mean that there's no

I can confirm this still happens in Ubuntu 10.10 x86 with all of the

panel which I added to the right side of the screen, and that started it
for me. However moving the panel to any other location does not fix
this issue. I

A possible workaround for this issue (as recommended by a Lucid user in

fusion icon is not already installed, start Ubuntu Software Center and
install the package Compiz Fusion Icon. Then, in GNOME, System -
