Here is a bootchart from this morning. I guess either that shell or gtk-
windows -decorators process started by compiz mark the end of the black
screen period. Compared to older bootcharts that shell is started much
later and also the other process does start sooner. Both now seem to be
blocked to

I noticed on several machines that the time between login through lightdm and
the desktop graphics to appear seems to have grown quite a bit. On a i386
netbook with i915 graphics it takes about 15 seconds. On a 64bit Atom based
machine with gma500_gfx it even takes longer.

Switching to 2d, the responsiveness to keystrokes is back to normal. The
window dragging is a bit better though still feels lagging (maybe that
is a feature...). Also top does not show any higher load.

Oneiric 64bit system upgraded to latest (2011-08-18) takes about 1
second to respond to a single keystroke. When typing faster it catches
up, so it seems more like a delay to react to the input. Same happens
wen trying to move a window. The mouse pointer reaches its target and
