I've just tested this under IceWM and I can confirm that changing the
font size in gnome-terminal still resizes the window. Reporter, are you
still getting this behaviour?

I assure you, I don't want to let this bug vanish. I didn't realise when
I reassigned it that it behaves differently under IceWM. I'll do some
more testing tonight if I can (sorry, time is squeezed at the moment
because I'm rehearsing for a concert next week). I'll let you know what
I find and
I haven't investigated, but I assume you have; why do you think this is
a window manager problem?

What appears to be happening here is that X goes away while Compiz is
still working, thus causing the X client libraries not to be able to
write to the pipe. I'm not sure why this would happen. Can you still

What appears to have happened here is that 0x600 was treated as a
closure, which it wasn't, and the field read from there as the pointer
to the code must have been 0x0. The trouble is that we have no way of
knowing from this what the closure was *supposed* to be, unless we can
reproduce the
Beowulf/s-highlander: can you tell me whether you're getting similar
crashes under Oneiric?
