@Doug, I'm not into development, but I believe the right place to
interact with developers is at the appropriate IRC channels for the
different teams, you can get (in my experience) a fast exchange on any
issue with them overthere. I don't think there is usuarlly much
interaction of that type here

could you please open a bug so that your hardware specifications get

I just entered my information in bug 750550 and marked as duplicate of
this one. In my case the screen starts flickering, but eventually the X
server starts again and everything seems to come back to normal.
