Daniel, makes sense. Based on the previous discussion I wasn't sure if
we'd determined whether or not this actually fixed all the known issues.
Merely confirming it does not.
An update: after leaving my computer running for over 24 hours, compiz
is sitting firmly at 60%+ CPU while doing nothing on
@vanvugt Unfortunately the problem has not been fixed in the new repos
for me. Still hovering around 25+% while idling with Chrome open. I'll
leave the box running for a few days to see if it still has the time
degradation problem.

This happens to me on OpenSuse 11.4 as well. Though my dead zone seems
to be the top left corner (about the size of a standard gnome-terminal
window). Happens about once a day, I can either restart X (ctrl-alt-
bksp) or switch to metacity.

issue, but I am monitoring to see if I get a crash since then. Terrible

I can also confirm this bug. I have noticed compiz.real crashes with a
segfault in libglcore.so while system is under load with the screensaver
active. Judging from timestamps within the logs, it appears the crash
happens while the screensaver is active rather that upon unlocking it.

Correction to above,
Upoon opening a few more web pages and rechecking Banshee status popup, i did
have to restart firefox (tested twitter.com where i knew i had seen the effect
before) and Banshee to clear the text blockyness. Worked on console without
restart oddly enough.
