Easystroke does send out the clear command, I think the problem is that compiz never processes it. IIRC, the compiz main loop is coded in such a way that compiz only processes commands sent by DBus if it is idle, so it never gets to clearing the screen when it is too busy drawing the fire. -- Ea

Is it really still sensible to enable "unredirect fullscreen windows" when it causes so many graphics issues. I am no expert but I don't think that it necessarily improves performance by any noticeable amount - fedora does not enable it by default and this does not cause any major problems. I thin
