I can confirm window resizing is VERY slow using the nvidia-current
driver and setting CCSM - Resize Window - Default Resize Mode =
Normal.
Using updated 12.10.

LiraNuna: The issue with nvidia-current is more likely bug 1049214.
Normal resize mode is quite fast in 12.10 if you're /not/ using
nvidia.

This sounds very serious. Though in the thousands of bug reports I've
seen, this is the first about resizing being so slow.
Could you please run glxinfo and attach the output? Please also attach
a copy of your /proc/cpuinfo.
