After re-reading my bug description, it could also be interpreted as a
bug in compizconfig-settings-manager so I added it as an "also affects".

I just wish I knew what layer was preventing it from being a vlid
binding.

Confirmed in 15.10, if escape binded to close window for example, it didn't

To make a suggestion, if binding the Escape key is not going to produce
any result, then the interface should be configured to disallow it and a
log message should be produced for any time it is set and/or used.
So if I Click 'Grab' and Press Escape, then the binding should not
be set and a error
