The problem here is almost certainly that you have turned off the Unity
plugin when turning on the wobbly windows plugin. (Possibly this
happened automatically.)
Here is how to get your desktop back:
1. Press ctrl-T to get a new tab.
2. Press ctrl-L to let you type a path, and type /usr/bin.
3.
Could you go to a console tty, log in, and type unity --reset? Then
when you go back to tty7, let us know what it printed. If you need help
doing this, let me know.
