Public bug reported: When using the latest compiz tarball, the system works fine until the unityshell plugin is enabled. Once enabled, the launcher and panel are visible, but instead of any graphics, black rectangles can be seen everywhere. Instead of the dash, a big black rectangle is visible as well. Some of those rectangles blink depending on what operation is being performed. For instance - a newly opened window has some black rectangles on the title bar, but the main screen is ok - until it gets refreshed by, for instance, scrolling with the mouse. It becomes hidden behind a black rectangle then.
Using latest unity + compiz with the new ABI. >From what I have been informed, this only happens on ATI cards using fglrx. The same packages used on a system with an Nvidia card seem to work normally. Using: Ubuntu precise (development branch) 12.04 Self-packaged compiz 0.9.7-rc1 and unity 5.2.0-0ubuntu1 with an aditional packaging fix from Didier for using the new compiz ABI Tested on: i386 fglrx = the bug appears nvidia = the bug is not present Untested on intel cards. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: 0.9.7-rc1 fglrx rc1 unityshell -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/928248 Title: Major graphical artifacts in unity using latest rc compiz build on fglrx To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/928248/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
