Guy from GoDaddy called today to see if I need any more services (well, he
didn't exactly say this, but...) I took the opportunity to ask him about
their privacy policy. He insisted that all registration companies have to
submit the same info. to Whois, where it is available to the public...UN

The headers should contain at least one "Received: " line. If those
lines aren't forged, they are usually chronolo
Well, only a few days ago, I knew virtually nothing about this domain
registration business. Yet I rather quickly came to the tentative
conclusion that it doesn't make sense that people are allowed to register
other people's names (aside from cases of the same name, which could be

I went on alt.periphs.scsi, earlier and, looked through the archives. Another
person had a problem similar to mine. They were told to re-install the 19160
then, download the drivers for the 39320 then, to re-install the 39320 so, I
will do that tomorrow.

You've only got a short window of time to do this, so perhaps you are
missing it.

hi and help
recently i went to illinois with my hard drive containing win200pro. i
installed it in my computer there but i stupidly forgot to prepare it for
the transfer to the different machine, i wouldn't run.
i had the win2000 cd with me so i installed a second win2000 on the hard
drive, it work
No, you don't want a bootable floppy. XP prompts you to insert a floppy when
you press F6 and reads the drivers from there.

Why don't you contact her publisher? Publishers usually handle much of
the PR for their authors and handle requests like yours. They also set
up web pages to publicize and sell their books. Writers who are also in
practice and teaching don't usually do, or even have, their own web sites.

Maybe your keyboard hasn't been recognized yet. Try plugging it into the PS2
socket?

I would not put much credence into email time stamps. (What do the time
stamps on this email tell you?) With a few
I downloaded the driver from Adaptec's website.
As for having the floppy drive enabled, I never disabled it. I just changed
the boot order in the BIOS(not SCSI) so, the CD-R/W would be first. I tried to
create a 'bootable' floppy disk but, I can't even do that from the other
desktop, I am acc
Note that you must connect a floppy drive first, and it must be enabled in
the BIOS. And it's gotta have a driver on it (check their website).

Tony, I laughed at myself, when you asked that question. That was rather vague
of me.
The AHA-19160 and, AHA-39320 are Host Adapters, made by Adaptec.
As for the prompt, I see that, when I try to install XP Pro but, when I press
F6, nothing happens. I know nothing is wrong with the keyboard.
If anyone is confused by the subject, I apologize. I put it that way for
simplicity.
In the past week, I have had a problem that has, sort of flip-flopped. I
originally had an AHA-19160 in my tower until, my hard drive seemingly
disappeared from the card's BIOS. While the drive disappeared f
Thanks for the responses to this question. The answers appear consistent,
so I'm convinced. Live and learn. [And sorry Stewart for the inadvertent

I put out a proposal here at the office to get a number of notebooks and in
order to keep them all in the same state, we'd ghost one and apply the image to
