Having only an anecdote, my own experience, to offer, I would suggest
that she wait. My own (attempted) upgrade from 3 to 4 has been
terrible. Before version 4, I had been very happy with Parallels.
After upgrading (twice -- the first effort was a complete failure),
several CD images that I use regularly could no longer be mounted.
Worse, support for the individual user is extremely poor, unless, of
course, you're willing to pay a good bit more than $40 for the
upgrade...
If version 3 is working for your wife now, I'd strongly recommend
against upgrading at this time. I myself have given up for the present
and restored 3 from a backup.
