Apparently the last iteration of  win 7 beta, IE can be uninstalled from the
OS.  This of course was the main point in the lawsuit, at the time MS said
it was impossible to pull it out of the code base of windows.  I recall Avie
Tevanian was called as an expert witness who said very clearly it could be
done.  I tend to believe the apple guy at this point.

That aside, it seems that windows has become more componentized in it's
nature and only time will tell if this 'feature' of being able to uninstall
IE from windows will stick to the final release.  To note to those who
uninstall it...make sure you download an alternative browser first :)

This could be handy to corporations who don't want their users visiting
websites while at work, or just want to cut down on the number of updates to
their windows base of users.  Hopefully it sticks.
