It really depends on the hardware. I have some laptops at work that won't reconnect their integrated Intel NICs coming out of sleep in XP. My laptop at home has a Netgear wireless card and it reconnects automatically out of sleep just fine; same with the Nvidia NIC on my home PC. I've seen other

My daughter's new HP laptop with Vista works fine except when it goes to sleep it disconnects from the wireless router. She can reconnect manually no problem. But is there any way to reconnect automatically (or better yet stay connected)?
