Tom Flynn and Angelina Giovani will give a talk on: ‘Art Provenance
Research Issues and Challenges’

The Robing Room at Freemason's Hall,

60 Great Queen Street

WC2B 5AZ. London

Provenance has become one of the most talked about issues in the art
market, but how rigorously is provenance research being undertaken and by
whom? The talk discusses some of the procedures involved in researching the
ownership history of works of art for the art trade and private collectors
and the unexpected research outcomes from one or two case studies and how
conservators can aid the process.

Dr Tom Flynn is an art historian and writer with an interest in the
professional practices of the global art market, sculpture history and
issues in cultural heritage.

Angelina Giovani, MA, is an art historian with experience working for the
Jeu de Plume (Holocaust assets) database documenting the cultural plunder
by the ERR. She previously acted as Head of Provenance Research for a
bespoke family office.

Freemasons Hall is close to both Covent Garden and Holborn Tube Stations.

Doors open at 6pm. Talk at 6.30pm
